Greene County Historical Society will celebrate 90 years of preserving the history of the county during its annual dinner dance March 28.
The dinner dance will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. in the National Guard Readiness Center in Franklin Township, and will give the society a chance to showcase what it has planned for the coming year.
This year, the Beaver Bop Cats, a classic 18-piece big band, will again entertain guests with swing hits from the 1940s. The event also will feature a catered meal, Chinese auction, door prizes and a 50-50 raffle.
The society will also present a special anniversary exhibit featuring the artifacts the society’s forefathers first put on display and will include information on society pioneers who were integral in the development and maintenance of the society during its 90 years of existence.
The display also will give people a taste of the museum’s first main exhibit this year.
Tickets for the dinner dance are $40 a person. A full table can be reserved for parties of six or more. To make a reservation, call the museum office at 724-627-3204 or email gchsalexandra@gmail.com.
