The Waynesburg Merchants Guild Saturday will launch a weeklong Golden Egg Hunt.

The hunt will start with a visit by the Easter Bunny at 5 Kidz Kandy from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Children will be able to have free photographs taken with the Easter bunny.

No prints will be made, but free downloads will be available for printing and sharing.

On Saturday, other merchants also will feature free activities for children: face-painting at Artbeat Gallery; craft activities at Ruff Creek Crafts and Antiques; beaded jewelry making at B&B Jewelry and a coloring contest at Grandma’s Attic.

Each of these and other participating merchants will have baskets full of eggs, from which customers can pick an egg, no purchase necessary, to receive prizes or in-store discounts.

If a customer picks a “golden egg” from a store’s basket, he or she will be entered in the drawing for the grand prize Golden Egg Basket, valued at more than $500.

From Monday through March 28, customers will be able to pick another egg with any purchase from participating merchants to double their chances of winning.

Additional participating merchants include McMillen Photography, Fischer’s Antiques, the Locker Room, the Fashion Shop and Just the Right Touch.

Drawing for the grand prize Golden Egg Basket will be March 30.
