A driver was uninjured after his car crashed into a house in North Charleroi Friday afternoon.

Lock 4 Volunteer Fire Chief Mike Castner said the driver, whose name was not available, was driving down Fourth Street when he lost his brakes, struck a stop sign, traveled through two yards and crashed into the house at Fourth Street and Peach Way.

The house sustained significant damage, Castner said.

The homeowner was at work at the time of the accident, and no one was inside the home.

Lock 4 firefighters were assisted by Charleroi Regional Police and Mon Valley EMS.

The driver was wearing a seat belt. He declined medical treatment.
