Assault arrest: Edward A. Tyburski, 62, of 423 Old Route 71, Fallowfield Township, was arrested Saturday by state police on charges of simple assault and harassment. He is accused of pushing and punching Colleen Magruda. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Charged in assault, burglary: Paul Michael Bruce, 46, of 8100 Noblestown Road, McDonald, was arrested last week by McDonald police on charges of aggravated assault, criminal mischief, possessing instruments of a crime, simple assault and criminal mischief for allegedly trying to break into a home at 363 E. Lincoln Ave. by hacking at a door with an ax. He also is accused of assaulting Phillip Masko during the incident. He was released from Allegheny County jail after posting $50,000 bond.
Identity theft: A McDonald man told McDonald police that he learned his identity was stolen when he attempted to file his federal income tax return. He was notified by the Internal Revenue Service last week that his name and Social Security number was used in filing a fraudulent return.
House burglarized: Eric Miller of 106 S. Center St., Midway, told McDonald police Wednesday his house was burglarized. The house was trashed, but it appeared nothing was stolen.
Vehicles damaged: Heidi Brown and Zachary Nice, both of Midway, told McDonald police early Sunday that their vehicles were damaged while parked outside Windsor Tavern, 113 St. Johns St.
Assault alleged: Andrew J. Fazio, 43, of 303 Second St., Monongahela, was arrested Saturday by Monongahela police on charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after he allegedly choked and punched Shannon Lynn. He also allegedly yelled at police. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson and placed in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
Crash arrest: Joshua G. Corbin, 26, of 370 Duncan Ave., Washington, was arraigned Monday on a warrant obtained by North Franklin Township police in conjunction with a Jan. 30 hit-and-run crash at West Chestnut Street and Elwood Park. Police said he fled the accident scene, and his vehicle was found in a parking lot about a mile away. He was arraigned before District Judge Robert Redlinger on charges of leaving the scene of a crash, not having a license and other traffic violations. Corbin was placed in Washington County jail on a $5,000 percentage bond.
Stun gun charge: Lance A. Stumpf, 45, of 745 Millers Run Road, McDonald, was arrested Saturday night by North Strabane Township police after he allegedly was seen activating a stun gun after getting out of his vehicle at Chartiers Street and Latimer Avenue. Police said he was intoxicated and had an open bottle of vodka in his vehicle. His blood-alcohol content was more than double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed, according to police. Stumpf was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson on charges of having a prohibited offensive weapon, driving under the influence of alcohol and having an open container of alcohol. He was placed in Washington County jail on $1,000 bond.
Charged in crash: Richard Allen Tennant, 36, of 252 Middle St., Brownsville, was arrested Friday by state police after a hit-and-run crash at the intersection of Routes 519 and 136 in Somerset Township. Police said his BAC was almost double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a crash and several traffic violations. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
DUI and excessive speed: Michael S. Walton, 50, of Carriage Way, Canonsburg, was arrested Saturday for DUI and exceeding the speed limit in the 2900 block of Washington Road.
Receiving charge: Tami Richards, 54, of 87 ½ E. Maiden St., Washington, was charged Monday by Washington police with receiving stolen property after she allegedly sold a stolen bicycle at a South Main Street pawn shop for $15.
Man assaulted: Steven Loughman of Washington told Washington police Thursday he was assaulted by several men in the 100 block of Church Street. He was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment. Police said he was not being cooperative.
Windows broken: Washington police said three vehicles had their windows broken while parked off Oregon Street Friday. Ashley Burns of Oregon Street told police she awoke after hearing her vehicle alarm go off and found that the back window of her vehicle was broken.
Women assaulted: Betty Gray, 50, and her mother, Shirley Gray, 72, both of Washington, told police they were assaulted Friday at a home in the 600 block of Maple Avenue. Police are investigating.
Safe stolen: Joy Frantz of Ewing Street told Washington police Saturday that her safe was stolen from her home.
Assault reported: Joe Gudac, 54, of Washington, told Washington police Sunday that he was assaulted by two men while he was sleeping in an alley off the 600 block of Chartiers Street, He told police that when he woke up, he found that his pants, cellphone and money was stolen.
Faces charge: Crissy Lane, 35, of 12 Nannie St., South Strabane Township, faces a charge of driving under the influence after crashing into a parked vehicle in the 300 block of Ridge Avenue Sunday night. She reportedly told police she had taken a painkiller before driving. She was taken to Washington Hospital, where blood was drawn for testing.
