The Daughters of Grace Choir will present “Songs of Hope,” at 7 p.m. Friday at Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. The hourlong concert will feature classic and contemporary choral pieces with an uplifting message. The Daughters of Grace Choir, now in its tenth season, is a volunteer choir composed of women of all ages from Greene, Washington and Fayette counties. The choir is accompanied by Carilyn Beabout on piano and Bethany May on drums. Admission is free and attendees are encouraged to bring canned or nonperishable food items for the Greene County Corner Cupboard Food Bank. A free-will offering, benefitting the food bank, will also be collected. Refreshments will be served following the concert.
The Greene County Author’s Day at the Cornerstone Genealogical Society has been for April 18 after inclement weather forced the society to postpone the event. Any Greene County authors who would like to participate in the author’s day are welcome. They may contact Cornerstone Genealogical Society for inclusion at 724-627-5653. Office hours at the society are from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturdays.
