Numerous people recently appeared in Washington County Court on criminal charges. Appearing before Judge Gary Gilman were:

Gregory W. Safko, 42, 11 Pepper Lane, Lawrence; furnishing liquor to minors; charged June 22; sentence – 12 months of probation, 150 hours of community service within 12 months and $1,000 fine.

Dennis J. Carini, 20, 115 Lincoln Drive, Fayette City; possession of drug paraphernalia; charged June 8; sentence – 6 months of probation.

Edward Stonick, 29, 435 Sixth St., Donora; burglary and retail theft; charged July 17; sentence – 7 to 23 months in jail with credit for time served, 23 months of probation, 25 hours of community service and banned from Dollar General.

Kenneth Prentice, 54, 519 First St., Charleroi; theft by unlawful taking, public drunkenness and defiant trespass; charged June 17; sentence – 18 months of probation concurrent to any other sentence being served, 100 hours of community service and no contact with victim.
