Man’s body pulled from Mon River identified
CHARLEROI – A man’s body was pulled from the Monongahela River near Charleroi Memorial Park shortly after 7 p.m. Monday, Charleroi Regional police said.
The body of King Coulter, 63, of Fallowfield Avenue, Charleroi, was found along the river bank near the park, and Washington County Coroner Tim Warco pronounced him dead at 8:23 p.m. The cause and manner of Coulter’s death is pending autopsy.
Warco reported Coulter’s body was found in the water by an off-duty Uniontown police K-9 officer.
Bryan Presock and his wife, Patti, of Dilliner, were walking along the river at 7th and 200 Chambers Plaza.
“I didn’t know if it was trash, the way things end up in the river,” Bryan Presock said. “I took a look and saw it was human remains, and I saw the back of his jacket.”
According to a Pittsburgh newspaper, Coulter was last seen at 12:30 p.m. March 5 in Charleroi. Coulter was missing his right eye, had poor vision and took prescribed medication.
Assisting Charleroi police were Bentleyville and Charleroi fire departments and Mon Valley EMS.
