Area man faces child sex charges
WAYNESBURG – A former Waynesburg man was charged last week with statutory sex assault after borough police said he had a sexual relationship with a teenage girl three years ago.
Christopher M. Sieradzki, 27, was arrested Friday by Waynesburg police and accused of having sex with the North Strabane Township girl, who was 14 at the time, on three or four occasions between March and June 2012.
Borough police Chief Rob Toth said the first encounter occurred during a St. Patrick’s Day party in March 2012 at Sieradzki’s South Morris Street residence in Waynesburg.
“He had been drinking and claims he doesn’t remember what happened,” Toth said. “But he engaged her the next two or three times after that.”
Police said Sieradzki and the girl had sex two or three more times at the girl’s North Strabane home over the next three months.
Toth said the mother of the girl brought it to their attention last November. The girl admitted to the relationship during an interview with investigators that same month, police said.
Police on Thursday filed charges against Sieradzki, and he allegedly admitted to the relationship during an interview the following day. Toth said Sieradzki knew the girl was a minor.
Adam Belletti, Sieradzki’s defense attorney, could not be reached for comment.
Sieradzki, who now lives at 1633 E. Maiden St. in South Strabane Township, was charged with two counts of indecent deviate sexual intercourse and four counts each of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault and corruption of minors. Sieradzki was arraigned Friday afternoon by District Judge Louis Dayich and taken to Greene County jail on $15,000 bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled before Dayich on May 11.
