A Charleroi man was arrested on a warrant obtained by Centerville police after he allegedly threatened his estranged wife with a knife during a confrontation in a convenience store parking lot last week.
Patrick A. Willson, 38, of 1456 Route 481, is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of children and one count each of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.
Police were called about 9:30 p.m. May 7 to the GetGo, 3143 National Pike, (Route 40), Richeyville, for a report of a domestic dispute. Linnie Willson told police her soon-to-be ex-husband pulled a knife on her and threatened to slice the tires on her vehicle. The two are separated and share custody of their two children, ages 6 and 8.
Linnie Willson said she was waiting for her estranged husband to drop off the children. She was sitting in her car and opened the back door of her vehicle from the inside so the children could enter. Her estranged husband reportedly came up, and started yelling he was not giving her child support and also was taking back her vehicle if she did not stop a child custody court action, police said.
Patrick Willson reportedly started to walk away, but then came back to her vehicle holding with a knife, police said. He was reportedly came to the driver’s door with the knife in his hand, police said. He then allegedly went toward a tire on the driver’s side.
Linnie Willson told police she opened the door because the window was not working and told him she was calling 911 and that there were surveillance cameras recording the incident. She then put her vehicle in reverse so she could leave when he went behind her vehicle, reportedly pretending she had run over his foot, police said. He then got into his vehicle and sped off.
Police said surveillance video corroborates her version of events. Police tried to contact Patrick Willson at his home that night but he was not at their residence.
Willson was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and released early Thursday from Washington County jail after posting $10,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday before Kanalis.
