All slacks, no academic slackers
This week’s Mystery Photo was taken sometime in the late 1960s or early 1970s, judging by the fashions. That’s the time miniskirts were the rage, but these young women are all in slacks. But with armloads of books and papers, they don’t appear to be academic slackers. It’s too bad bookbags hadn’t come into use then; they could have used them.
This photo from the Observer-Reporter archives was found in a box of negatives from the newspaper’s Chartiers Valley office in Canonsburg. That’s all we know about it. We’re hoping some of our readers might recognize those in the picture and help us attach some information to the photo. We’d like to know, too, why, when and where the photo was taken.
If you think you can be of assistance, email Park Burroughs, retired executive editor, at pburroughs@observer-reporter.com, or call and leave a message for him along with your telephone number at 724-222-2200, extension 2400. With a little luck, we might be able to solve this puzzle and publish our findings later.
