Canton burglary suspects sought
State police are looking for two men in connection with a home burglary in Canton Township Thursday afternoon.
Police searched the woods behind the NSA Security Forces, Inc. building on the 2000 block of Jefferson Ave. for two white men in their mid-20s who are accused of burglarizing a residence at 2113 Belmont Ave.
The homeowner, who came home at about 1:15 p.m. and discovered the two men in his house, was able to snap a few photos of the suspects. Those may be released if the men are not found, state police said.
One suspect was described as wearing a blue fitted hat and a pink hoodie, while the other was wearing a camouflage print hoodie. At least one had a backpack. It was not known what was stolen.
State Trooper Chad Weaver said police “heard a lot of rustling” in the woods that stretch back to West Wylie Avenue and also saw footprints. Washington police assisted in the search.
