WAYNESBURG – A number of criminal defendants pleaded guilty last week before Greene County President Judge Farley Toothman and were sentenced. They included:
Alexander Charles Trew,23, of 3145 Mt. Morris Road, Waynesburg; offenses – driving under the influence of alcohol and four summary traffic violations; arrested Aug. 31, Trew had a blood-alcohol content of 0.108 percent; sentence – 48 hours to 5 years in jail, $1,000 fine, 250 hours of community service.
Joseph Franklin Crouse, 59, of 51 Weigmann Road, Burgettstown; offenses – DUI and three summary traffic violations; arrested July 25, after he backed up into another car in Waynesburg, he had a BAC of 0.272 percent; sentence – 5 years of county intermediate punishment, the first 90 days in house arrest; $603 in restitution, $1,575 in fines.
Robert William Treece, 43, unknown address; offenses – terroristic threats, harassment; on Jan. 1, 2014, Treece called the Cumberland Township police and threatened an officer and the police chief; sentence – following preparation of pre-sentence report.
Christopher Paul Moore, 27, of 116 Valley Farm Drive, Waynesburg; offenses – simple assault, harassment; a charged of indecent assault was withdrawn; on Feb. 17, Moore assaulted a woman who came to his house to pick up their 2-year-old son; sentence – 6 to 23 ½ months in jail, with credit for time served; 225 hours of community service.
Ryan Matthew Knight, 22, of 136 Fairview Ave., Jefferson; offenses – DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia; on May 17, 2013, Knight was found unresponsive in his vehicle with a pipe in his lap containing residue and synthetic marijuana; on Nov. 12, 2013, he was found unresponsive in his vehicle; tests indicated he was under the influence of synthetic marijuana; sentence – 72 hours to 18 months in jail, $1,500 fine, 100 hours of community service.
