The Fayette County coroner’s office is investigating the death of a Charleroi man whose body was pulled Wednesday from the Youghiogheny River in Perry Township, Fayette County.

Rescuers found the body of Joshua McKenna, 26, about 11 p.m. in an area where they were searching for a swimmer who went missing earlier Wednesday, a spokeswoman for Coroner Phillip E. Reilly said.

An autopsy was scheduled Thursday afternoon to determine the cause and manner of McKenna’s death, and the results were expected to be released Friday, she said.
