Mapletown to graduate 30
Mapletown High School will graduate 30 at its commencement ceremonies Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside the school gymnasium.
Valedictorian is Ryan David Kovach and salutatorian is Abigail Noel Shipley.
Kovach is a son of David Kovach and Debbie Lane, both of Greensboro.
He is a member of National Honor Society, ski club, SADD, Quarterbacks of Life, Envirothon, HEAT, Student Forum, The Future is Mine, and Interact Club. He volunteers at Fayette Friends of Animals.
Kovach plans to attend Penn State University’s main campus and major in biomedical engineering.
Shipley is a daughter of Kenneth and Holly Shipley of Greensboro.
She is a member of National Honor Society, Student Council and Student Forum. She is in ski club, Envirothon, Quarterbacks of Life, SADD, Interact Club, Academic League and The Future is Mine.
She is a member of the varsity volleyball, basketball and softball teams.
Shipley volunteers at Pet Helpers Inc., the After-School Backpack Program and the blood drive.
She plans to attend Waynesburg University to major in biology.
