ROSTRAVER (AP) – Authorities say a child was injured by falling debris after lightning struck his family’s home in Western Pennsylvania.

Emergency crews in Westmoreland County were sent to the Rostraver residence at about 4 p.m. Saturday after the strike.

Officials said the young boy’s parents took him to a local hospital in a private vehicle after he was hit by debris from the home. There was no immediate word on his condition.

Emergency dispatchers said there was no evidence of a fire at the home along the Youghiogheny River when crews cleared the scene.
