Supervisors approved several measures at its meeting Monday.

• Three new police officers – Jonathan Steiner, Anthony Cancilla and Matthew Shaffer – have been offered employment with the municipality after two separate votes of 4-1-0 and 4-0-1, with supervisor Elizabeth Cowden abstaining on two applicants and voting no on the other. She said she wanted to interview the candidates herself.

• The board accepted the private donation of a 2016 five-passenger, all-terrain vehicle to the police department.

• The board voted unanimously to approve the preliminary purchase of as many as a dozen temporary speed bumps to place in various neighborhoods. Tim Markovich of Mayfair said he’s been raising the issue of drivers going up to 60 mph on neighborhood roads. The bumps can be relocated to problem areas.

• Supervisor Andy Schrader advised residents to look into purchasing mine subsidence insurance because most of Cecil Township is undermined.
