WEBSTER – A body discovered Sunday along the Monongahela River in Westmoreland County has been identified as that of a missing Donora man.

A spokesman for Westmoreland Coroner Kenneth A. Bacha said the body was identified Monday as that of Christopher Megela, 42, who has been missing since Oct. 15.

Megela, who lived on Fayette Avenue, was pronounced dead at 1:36 p.m. Sunday. Rulings on the cause and manner of his death were pending toxicology tests, the results of which will not be known for eight to 12 weeks, Bacha’s spokesman said.

The body was discovered by a fisherman along the riverbank in Rostraver Township off Route 906, approaching its intersection with Route 136 in Allegheny County.
