Four-vehicle accident: According to police reports, Lisa Burris, 51, of West McMurray Road, McMurray, was southbound in the 3600 block of Washington Road when she became distracted and struck the rear of an automobile driven by Mary M. Falleroni, 70, of Milbeck Drive, Washington, shortly after noon Wednesday. That impact pushed Falleroni’s car into the rear of an automobile driven by Patrice Becker, 61, of Old Clairton Road, Clairton, who then struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Nunzio Domenick, 57, of Lewis Avenue, Charleroi. Falleroni’s car had to be towed, and Joanne Bier, 78, of Fair Meadow Drive, Washington, a passenger in Falleroni’s vehicle, went by private car for medical treatment of an eye injury.
Theft: Three shotguns and a pistol were reported stolen from a house in the 200 block of Lanik Road on Oct. 27, state police said. There are no suspects.
Burglary charge: Michael P. Daley, 25, of 211 McKean Ave., Charleroi, was charged with criminal attempt to commit burglary and criminal mischief. Charleroi Regional police were dispatched to Campy’s Pizza, 119 Pennsylvania Ave., at 1:02 a.m. Thursday for an alarm activation. Upon arrival, police found a broken window and footprints on the exterior of a door. Police said Daley was found minutes later riding a bike about a quarter-mile from the business, wearing shoes that matched the footprint. He told police he was at the business to order food. He was placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled Nov. 19.
Criminal mischief: There were several reports of car windows being damaged Wednesday, city police said. The incidents occurred at 860 Canton Ave., 119 W. Chestnut Street, along the 100 block of Hall Avenue and at 680 Broad St. There are no suspects.
Theft: Timothy Racko Sr. of 859 Racko Street, Washington, reported a gun missing from his home, city police said.
Theft: Margaret Notthingham, of 119 Brady Ave., Washington, reported a Harley-Davidson motorcycle missing from the front of her home Wednesday, city police said.
Burglary: Shannon Bennett of 92 Murray Ave., Washington, reported her purse and its contents missing from her home Wednesday, city police said.
Simple assault charge: Sequoia Grayson, 33, of 680 Maple Ave., was charged by city police with simple assault for allegedly striking Betty Gray in the head March 20 when Gray came to Grayson’s residence to retrieve her belongings. Charges will be sent by summons.
Fraud charge: Renee L. Daugherty, 38, of 758 Allison Ave., was arraigned Thursday before District Judge Robert Redlinger for insurance fraud and theft by deception. According to a private insurance investigator, Daugherty called to reduce her deductible and increase her rental car insurance at 10:30 p.m. March 4, then filed a claim March 5, stating she hit a pillar between noon and 12:30 p.m. that day in a parking lot. Police said video surveillance revealed the accident occurred at 10:30 p.m. March 4. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 25. Daugherty remains free on $10,000 bond.
Assault charge: Sonronda Heyman, 41, of 450 Fifth St., Braddock, was charged with simple assault by city police in connection with an Oct. 12 incident. Heyman allegedly punched Jamie Harvey of Washington through the open window of her car, parked at the intersection of Oak and Erie streets, after an argument. Charges will be sent by summons.
