KENNETT SQUARE (AP) – Reports of trick-or-treaters in the Philadelphia suburb of Kennett Square finding needles stuffed in their Halloween candy turned out to be a hoax.

Police said a “needle-type item” was reported inside two wrapped candy bars given to five children on Saturday.

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan tells KYW-TV there’s no evidence of a crime.

There is no word if anyone will face charges of making a false report.
