WAYNESBURG – State Rep. Pam Snyder announced Monday the beginning of her annual winter clothing donation drive that will continue over the next four weeks.

Snyder, D-Jefferson, said they will be collecting new and gently used items that will be distributed through the Salvation Army in Waynesburg, the Masontown Helping Hands Ministry and Crosskeys Human Services of Brownsville.

The drive will be organized through Snyder’s constituency service offices to help local families in need.

“It’s the third year we’ve collected cold-weather gear, and the generosity of area residents has been heart-warming,” Snyder said in a written statement. “The donated coats, gloves, mittens, scarves, hats and boots stay in the area to help our friends and neighbors.”

Clothing will be accepted until Dec. 11 at any of Snyder’s three district offices.

People can drop off the garments weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carmichaels office at 104 S. Market St., and the Waynesburg office at 93 E. High St. Donations may also be made Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Snyder’s satellite office at 113 Thornton Road in Redstone Township.

“Hundreds of area families have benefitted from the donations since we started the clothing drive in 2013,” Snyder said. “It brings a warm feeling to all involved.”
