Drug arrest: Michael Anthony Pace, 42, of 10 Virginia Drive, Charleroi, was arrested Wednesday on a warrant issued by state police after he allegedly sold two bricks of heroin to an undercover state trooper Feb. 28, 2014. The trooper set up a drug deal through another man and met him and his mother at the Monongahela Foodland parking lot, the affadavit states. They then drove to the parking lot of Eat ‘n Park, where Pace allegedly provided the heroin. He was arraigned before District Judge Mark Wilson on charges of possession and delivery of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Passenger injured: Rebecca Price, 30, of Westland, was injured when the vehicle in which she was riding, driven by Sean Southern, 32, of Westland, collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by James Wood, 65, of Canonsburg, who was stopped in the southbound lane of Route 19 to make a left turn into Smith Place about 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, North Strabane police said. Southern’s vehicle then crossed into the northbound lane, hitting a vehicle driven by Michael Washington, 47, of McDonald. Price was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Driver charged: Chad O. Phillips, 39, of 223 Fourth St., McDonald, was charged Friday by North Strabane police with driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police said he was found passed out at the wheel of his vehicle on Johnson Road on Aug. 26. Police said tests showed he was under the influence of Oxycodone. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Charged in crash: Tony A. Frank, 55, of Derry, was charged Friday by North Strabane police with DUI stemming from a two-vehicle crash Oct. 3 in the parking lot at Meadows Casino. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Assault arrest: Anthony L. Shadeck, 27, of 88 Country Club Road, South Strabane, was arrested Tuesday night by township police after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Skyler George, and tossed her clothing and other belongings into the yard and onto the road in front of their house. He was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins on charges of simple assault, harassment, disorderly conduct and propulsion of missiles. He was placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Firearms violation: William E. Arrington, 25, of Pittsburgh, was charged Monday by state police with illegal sale or transfer of a gun and unsworn falsification after police said he was found with a weapon during a traffic stop on Interstate 79 in South Strabane on Aug. 29. Police determined he provided false information on an application when purchasing the gun. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Missing wedding ring: Joanne DeCola of North Strabane Township told South Strabane police her wedding band was lost or stolen while she was in the Trinity Point area Monday.
Office burglarized: Leonard Fratini of Canonsburg told Washington police Tuesday that his office at 353 W. Beau St. was burglarized. The burglar tried to steal a safe and then broke into a rear office. Cash was taken from desk drawers. The thief then broke into a filing cabinet and stole more money.
