HOLBROOK – For the second time in as many days, a driver died in a crash on Greene County roads.

Carl S. Raber, 51, of Waynesburg, was traveling north on Hargus Creek Road in Center Township about 11:50 a.m. Friday when his pickup truck ran off the road, went up an embankment and rolled onto its passenger side, according to State Police.

The pickup truck came to rest by the side of the road near 774 Hargus Creek Road.

Center Township fire Chief Charles Jones said the driver was unresponsive when firefighters arrived to render aid. Greene County Deputy Coroner Mary Lewis pronounced him dead at the scene.

An autopsy will be scheduled to determine cause of death and learn whether he suffered a medical emergency that might have led to the crash.

It was the second fatal crash in the county in less than 22 hours.

Becky M. Cain, 36, of Crucible, died in a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon along Route 21 in Khedive, according to the coroner.

Cain was traveling west about 2:30 p.m. when her car crossed the centerline and crashed into an eastbound tri-axle dump truck carrying gravel near Crees Road. The truck then crashed into a second car, the coroner said.

The truck driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment while the driver of the other car was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., with unspecified injuries, the coroner said. Their identities were not immediately released.

Cumberland Township and a state police crash reconstructionist are continuing to investigate what caused the crash. An autopsy was performed Friday morning on Cain to determine the cause of death.
