Pole catches fire: Firefighters from Burgettstown and Slovan were called Tuesday night for a report of a utility pole on fire in the area of 111 Center Ave., Burgettstown. McDonald police said area residents were asked to leave their homes for the night and move vehicles because of concern the pole would collapse.
Gun found: State police said a firearm was found Wednesday on Michael Avenue in Canton.
Disorderly charge: Gregory K. Miller, 34, of Houston, was charged with disorderly conduct by state police after he allegedly tried to push past security to enter a bar at The Meadows Casino on Sept. 26 after being told to leave.
Wallet taken: A wallet was reported taken from an unsecured vehicle at 4000 Waterdam Plaza on Sept. 30.
Retail theft: Police said a white male with dirty blonde hair entered Rite Aid, 4184 Washington Road, McMurray, on Sept. 30. According to reports, he placed several items in a small basket and ran out of the store and into a waiting vehicle. Total value of the stolen items was $366.
Assault arrest: Ryan Fonner, 23, of 595 ½ Maple Ave., Washington, was arrested Thursday night on charges of simple assault, harassment and terroristic threats. Police were told he came home intoxicated and threatened his 20-year-old brother, Justin Fonner, before kicking him. When his father tried to call 911, he allegedly ripped the telephone cord from the wall, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
Copper stolen: Rueben Brock of Pittsburgh told police Thursday copper pipe was stolen from the basement of a home in the 100 block of Liberty Avenue.
Car stolen: Walter Fogle of Ellsworth told police Thursday his red 2006 Lincoln was stolen from outside an auto repair shop at 28 E. Maiden St. He told police he placed the keys for the vehicle in a drop box at the shop. The license is JT2-8825.
Hunting equipment stolen: Michael C. Loughman and Duane T. Hensley told state police last weekend hunting equipment was stolen from a wooded area east of Weaver School Road, West Bethlehem. Stolen were cameras, tree stands and climbing sticks.
