Woman waives charges in seven cases to court
A North Strabane Township woman accused of robbing a township convenience store last month as well as stealing from family and acquaintances waived all charges filed against in seven different cases on Thursday.
Renee Bell, 53, of 60 Carl Ave., Lot C-50, Eighty Four, is accused of robbing the Thomas Station Market, 633 Thomas Road, Sept. 24. She reportedly distracted the husband of the store owner, who was working the counter, opened the cash register and grabbed the money, township police said. He confronted her and took back the money.
There was a struggle between the two. Bell reportedly pushed him back and he fell to the floor, She then grabbed the money and pulled the cord out of the telephone when he tried to call 911. Bell then ran from the store. She was later found at her home.
Bell is charged with two counts of robbery and one count each of theft, receiving stolen property, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct in the robbery. Police also charged her with five counts of theft, four counts of receiving stolen property and three counts of possession of drug paraphernalia stemming from four incidents earlier this year.
Bell remains in Washington County jail on $120,000 bond. She faces formal arraignment on the charges on Dec. 17.
