PITTSBURGH (AP) – A Pittsburgh-area man has been jailed on charges he helped a kidnapping suspect escape to Saudi Arabia.

Twenty-three-year-old Faisal Rajab, of Moon Township, faces a preliminary hearing Oct. 13 on charges of hindering apprehension and conspiring to help kidnapping suspect, Abdalaziz Sama, avoid a preliminary hearing last month.

Police say Rajab lied to detectives about Sama’s whereabouts and also purchased the suspect’s vehicle so Sama would have spending money.

Sama was arrested in July and released on bond early last month.

Police say a woman sent Sama a nude photo and he threatened to send it to her family and friends unless she met him in person. Once that happened, he allegedly forced her to undress and assaulted her and refused to let her go for a time.

Online court records don’t list an attorney for Rajab.
