Pittsburgh street closing for paving, new signals, sidewalks
PITTSBURGH (AP) – Officials say part of a street in downtown Pittsburgh will be closed for seven months beginning next Monday.
The city’s Department of Public Works says the lanes from Fourth Avenue to Fifth Avenue will be closed to accommodate a final phase of reconstructing the Forbes Avenue and Smithfield Street intersection.
The $5.3 million project includes a new concrete pavement, signals and sidewalks and other improvements.
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the bus lane will not be affected. Pedestrian traffic will still be accommodated.
