Warrant arrest: Bryant S. Amper, 48, no known address, was arrested by state police on an out-of-state warrant during a traffic stop about noon Tuesday at the intersection of Morganza Road and Adams Avenue, Canonsburg. Amper was a passenger in the vehicle. He is wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on a theft charge in Atlantic County, N.J. Police said they also found stamp bags of suspected heroin. Amper was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in Washington County jail without bond pending extradition to New Jersey. Canonsburg police assisted.
Parole violation: William C. Fields, 24, of New Kensington, was taken into custody for a state parole violation during a traffic stop Monday afternoon in the 2700 block of West Chestnut Street, Canton, state police said. He also will be charged with false identification to police after he allegedly gave police a false name and birthdate.
Warrant arrest: Joshua Smith, 22, of 715 Center Ave., North Charleroi, was taken into custody Sunday at 1217 McKean Ave. on an adult probation warrant and placed in Washington County jail, Charleroi Regional police said.
Drug arrest: Stanley Morris, 26, of 502 Seventh St., Charleroi, was arrested Tuesday by the Washington County District Attorney’s Drug Task Force on a warrant on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin and conspiracy after he allegedly sold the drug to a confidential informant July 15. He was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Two charged: Cory Stoddart, 24, of Glenshaw, and Casey Schwartzmier, 19, of Pittsburgh, were charged Monday by South Strabane police with retail theft and conspiracy. Stoddart is accused of stealing electric toothbrushes, Prilosec and Nexium, with a total value of $893.82, from Giant Eagle, Strabane Square, on Sept. 21 and selling the items at a pawn shop. Schwartzmier is accused of driving him to the store. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Bad checks charge: Kimberly Wells, 47, of 1196 Maple Terrace, Washington, was charged Monday by South Strabane police with writing bad checks after she allegedly made mobile deposits of three checks for $4,575 at Northwest Savings Bank, 260 Washington Road, in April. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Theft charge: Brandon D. Davis, 28, of 849 Henderson Ave., Washington, was charged Monday by South Strabane police with receiving stolen property and theft by deception for allegedly returning items stolen from Walmart, Trinity Point, to the store in exchange for a gift card Sept. 10. Charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Assault charge: Andre Dolby, 40, of 102 Linn Ave., Washington, was charged Monday by South Strabane police with aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct for allegedly hitting Brian Taylor in the head and left arm during an Aug. 30 incident at Trio Lounge, 1894 N. Main St. Taylor was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of a deep wound on his arm, police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Woman charged: Heather Woodring, 39, of 424 Phillips Ridge Road, Spraggs, was charged Monday by South Strabane police with receiving stolen property and theft by deception for allegedly returning stolen pillowcases and sheets to Walmart, Trinity Point, on Sept. 2 in exchange for a gift card. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Jay Weller.
Paraphernalia charge: Amy Carlton, 25, of 710 Eighth St., Charleroi, and Bryan Clark, 28, of Greensburg, were charged Saturday with possession of drug paraphernalia after Charleroi Regional police responded to a report of an unconscious woman in a vehicle at a Speers gasoline station. Police said they found Carlton outside the vehicle, and she appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Police said they were approached by Clark, who also appeared to be under the influence. They said he was in possession of stamp bags of heroin. Charges will be sent by summons.
Assault arrest: Lana Marie McCracken, 19, of McKees Rocks, was arrested Tuesday night by Washington police on a charge of simple assault after she allegedly punched Jordan Welsh, 24, in the mouth during a confrontation at his home at 54 Acheson Ave. She was arraigned before District Judge Joshua Kanalis and placed in Washington County Jail on $10,000 bond.
Checks stolen: Patricia Urista of Slovan told Washington police Tuesday checks were stolen from her purse were cashed over the weekend. Police have a suspect, and charges are pending.
Copper stolen: Larry Stevens of Pittsburgh told Washington police Tuesday copper pipes and parts from a furnace were stolen from a house in the 100 block of West Walnut Street.
Cellphone stolen: Alyissa Adkins of Chartiers Township told Washington police Tuesday her cellphone was stolen last week while she was at 219 Jollick Manor.
Generator stolen: A Honda generator and trash pump were reported stolen Tuesday from American Well Service, 1478 Jefferson Ave., Washington police said.
Retail theft charges: John Ignatius Gona, 24, of 3 Elizabeth St., Canton Township, was charged with three counts of retail theft after he allegedly was caught Sept. 27 stealing items from CVS Pharmacy, 155 W. Beau Street, Washington, city police said. The charges were sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.

College St., Washington, was charged with retail theft after she allegedly was caught Sept. 30 stealing items from Family Dollar, 130 Highland Ave., Washington, city police said. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
Drug paraphernalia charge: Robert Alan Hopkins, 28, of 37 Griffith Ave., Washington, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after city police said they found him slumped over in a vehicle Aug. 26 along Sammy Angott Way. A needle was found in his wrist, and heroin was found in the vehicle, city police said. The charge was sent by summons from the office of District Judge Robert Redlinger.
