Police Beat Oct. 10
Arrested outside bar: Jordan Lee Traham, 33, of Lafayette, La., was charged Friday with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public drunkenness after allegedly getting into a fight outside Jimmy G’s Bar, 341 Central Ave., Canonsburg. Canonsburg police said Traham was visibly intoxicated and struggled with officers when they attempted to arrest him. Officers forced Traham into the police cruiser, where they said he banged his body off the inside of the vehicle. While at the police station, Traham repeatedly kicked the cell door and spit blood, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and placed in the county jail on $10,000 bond.
Possession of heroin charge: Kayla Marie Collins, 25, of 908 Shady Ave., Charleroi, was charged Thursday with possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of heroin after she allegedly sold heroin to a informant during a controlled buy in July, Washington County Drug Task Force said. Collins was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and was placed in the county jail on $25,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22.
False statements charge: Earl Leroy Pirt, 73, of 500 W. Chestnut Street, Washington, was charged Friday with false statements and providing false information for firearm ownership after he attempted to buy a gun at a gun show at Washington County Fairgrounds in April, Chartiers Township police said. Pirt previously was convicted of another offense and is not permitted to possess firearms, police said. He was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and released on his own recognizance.
Bus accident: A 68-seat school bus and a landscaping truck collided on Bower Hill Road near Bower Hill Elementary School Thursday afternoon. No one was hurt, but the bus, which was empty at the time, had to be towed. The driver of the truck was Jeffrey Siegman, 46, of Roupe Road, Eighty Four, while the school bus driver was John D. Harris, 23, of Revere Drive, Pittsburgh. The investigation is continuing.
Retail theft: A man attempted to leave Kmart, 4041 Washington Rd. on Thursday with a cart full of merchadise including clothing, a skillet and a waffle maker. He was stopped by the store’s loss-prevention officers but fled to a red Honda Civic before police could arrive.
Assault arrest: Michael L. Namit, 44, of 194 Grove Ave., Washington, was charged Friday with simple assault and harassment after Tammy Gray reported to city police that Namit pushed her to ground, punched her and grabbed her neck following an argument. Namit was arraigned before District Judge David Mark and remanded to Washington County jail on $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 22.
Retail theft: Ashley Ritchey, 28, of 700 N. Main Street, Washington, was cited Thursday for retail theft after she allegedly was caught stealing items from Shop ‘n Save, 125 W. Beau Street, Washington, city police said.
