Man faces vehiclular homicide charge for 115 mph chase, crash
CHALKHILL, Pa. (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man who allegedly led police on a chase at speeds beyond 115 mph has been charged with vehicular homicide for the fatal crash that ended the pursuit.
State police in Uniontown have yet to release the name of the 22-year-old driver whose car was hit head-on Monday evening by one driven by 27-year-old Christopher Kemp, of Confluence.
Kemp is in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, with unspecified injuries.
Police say they were trying to pull him over for driving with a suspended license when he took off.
They say Kemp drove along Route 40 in Wharton Township, crossing into the opposite lane to avoid police, before smashing into the victim’s car.
A passenger in Kemp’s car is also hospitalized.
Online court records don’t list a defense attorney.
