Ortitay appointed to gaming oversight committee
State Rep. Jason Ortitay, R-South Fayette Township, was recently appointed to serve on the House Gaming Oversight Committee, which has legislative oversight of local small games of chance and bingo, local disbursement of casino gambling revenues, and the operations and regulations of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
“The Gaming Oversight Committee will likely play an integral part in finding new, innovative revenue solutions for the state’s budget deficit that do not raise taxes,” Ortitay said. “I am anxious to get to work on that and other important gaming-related issues impacting our Commonwealth.”
With this update to Ortitay’s committee assignments, he will serve on the following four standing committees for the 2015-16 legislative session: Aging and Older Adult Services, Gaming Oversight, Human Services and Tourism and Recreational Development.
