Canton Township man ordered to stand trial
A Canton Township man was ordered to stand trial Wednesday on charges of corruption of minors and indecent assault for alleged inappropriate contact with a girl last year. Randal J. Higgins Jr., 54, of 1875 Arlington Ave., was ordered held for court after the preliminary hearing before District Judge David Mark.
The girl, who was 12 at the time of the alleged incident last November, told state police he put an ice cube up her skirt and touched her inappropriately.
Higgins also reportedly asked the girl to touch him.
Higgins remains free on a $10,000 unsecured bond. He is scheduled to be formally arraigned Jan. 22.
