EASTON (AP) – A Pennsylvania man accused of forcing women and a minor to work in a prostitution ring pleaded guilty to sex trafficking charges.

Corderro Cody, 29, of Allentown, pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to conspiracy to commit sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion as well as a host of other charges.

The counts against Cody carry a minimum 15-year sentence and allow a judge to impose a life term, but attorneys agreed on a 30-year term as well as a $3.75 million fine.

Cody recruited women into prostitution, transporting them within the commonwealth and to other states for prostitution, and retained virtually all of the proceeds, authorities said.

“Cody used manipulation, including professions of love and devotion, and promises of a better life to coerce some women, and brutal force with others,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Sherri Stephan said.

One woman was beaten in the head so frequently that her hair stopped growing back, while another had her head pushed through a mirror and another through a bathroom window, authorities said.

“Cody also denied a victim access to her child as another form of coercion and control,” prosecutors said.

The plea came the week before trial was to start for Cody, who is to be sentenced Jan. 29.

Asked by the judge how he was feeling, Cody replied “Blessed.”
