Four people were arrested Friday on heroin charges.

A man and a woman were in Greene County jail Saturday on multiple drug charges afer a traffic stop in Franklin Township.

Jonathan Glenn Snyder, 30, of Toll Gate Run Road, Waynesburg, and Shawna Lynn Varner, 28, of Maple Street, Carmichaels, were arrested by state police in Waynesburg.

Charges are pending against a third person in the case – Felicia Dorothy Snyder, 27, of Toll Gate Run Road, Waynesburg.

Police said they stopped a Chrysler PT Cruiser about 1:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Route 21 and Toll Gate Run Road. They said they made the stop for careless driving and following too closely.

After being granted a consent search, troopers said they found a black zipper bag holding 27 stamp bags of suspected heroin and multiple syringes. They said they found the zipper bag under a police vehicle and determined that Jonathan Snyder threw it there after he stepped out of the car.

Troopers determined Varner had driven Jonathan Snyder to Carnegie to buy two bricks of heroin for the three to use and to sell in Greene County.

Jonathan Snyder and Varner were charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Varner also was charged with giving false identification to law enforcement.

Felicia Snyder will be charged with possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

In a separate incident Friday, Christopher Daugherty, 29, of Upper St. Clair, was charged with felony possession with intent to deliver heroin and possession of heroin, a misdemeanor.

Washington County Drug Task Force and Cecil Township police arrested Daugherty in a buy bust operation, according to the district attorney’s office. Detectives seized 35 bags of heroin, cash and paraphernalia when Daugherty arrived at a Millers Run Road location to sell a brick of heroin.

Daugherty was in Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
