An Amwell Township man was killed Tuesday when the tractor he was driving overturned on top of him. James McDade, 57, of Shipe Run Road, died in the 10:45 a.m. accident in North Franklin Township, Washington County Coroner Tim Warco said.

McDade, who was working as a contractor for Consol Energy, was traveling down a hill near an access road to Pump Station 4 at 375 Scenic Drive, near the No. 4 Dam on Consol property, when he lost control and the tractor rolled several times, Warco said. McDade was mowing the property for his company, McDade Builders of Laboratory.

McDade was pronounced dead just after noon of multiple injuries. Warco ruled the death accidental.

North Franklin police and firefighters assisted at the scene.
