Dunkard man accused of sexually assaulting boy waives charges
A Dunkard Township man accused of sexually assaulting a boy on multiple occasions earlier this year waived to court all charges before his preliminary hearing Tuesday.
Gary Lee Black, 52, waived two felony counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and corruption of minors, along with six misdemeanor counts of indecent assault in the alleged assault of the boy between May 29 and June 19.
State police said Black molested the boy during four incidents in the child’s bedroom at a Dunkard Township residence.
Police filed the first set of charges against Black in late June. Black was arrested July 15 during a multi-agency police sweep in Greene County in which seven other people were arrested on various fugitive warrants or drug and firearms charges. Additional charges against Black were filed by state police Aug. 5.
His preliminary hearing before District Judge Lee Watson was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon. Watson changed Black’s bail from $25,000 cash to a percentage bond following an agreement between prosecutors and Black’s public defender, according to court records.
Black remained at Greene County jail as of late Tuesday afternoon.
A formal arraignment on the charges in Greene County Court has not yet been scheduled.
