Drug arrest: Barry Jo Harter, 30, of 19 Meriage St., McDonald, was arrested Monday on a warrant obtained by Mt. Pleasant police after he allegedly was found with 27 stamp bags of suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia at his home July 17. Police saw him outside and knew he was wanted on a warrant. When the officer tried to take him into custody, Harter allegedly pulled away and tried to go back inside his home. He also reportedly refused to put his hands behind his back. He was arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins on charges of possession and possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession of paraphernalia and resisting arrest. He was placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Charged in theft: Alec Gage Stefanovits, 20, of Pittsburgh, was charged Tuesday by Southwest Regional police with theft from a motor vehicle, theft and receiving stolen property for allegedly taking items from a vehicle Aug. 25 in the 2011 block of Rankintown Road, Union. The charges were filed at the office of District Judge James Ellis.
Windshield damaged: Christina Lynn Wynn of 5020 Norman Ave. told Southwest Regional police that the windshield of her vehicle was smashed while the vehicle was parked in front of her home Friday.
Identity stolen: Michael L. Nichols Jr. of Washington told city police Monday that his personal information was used to open an account for water service in Hopewell, Va. He learned that his identity was stolen after he was notified by a collection agency.
Harassment charge: Tiffany Stone, 25, of 1108 Maple Terrace, was charged by Washington police with harassment after allegedly striking Cory Miller, 29, of 1080 Michigan Ave., Washington, during a confrontation at her home Monday.
Disorderly charge: Renee Daugherty, 37, of 758 Allison Ave., Washington, was charged with disorderly conduct by Washington police after she allegedly caused a disturbance Monday at the scene of a crash involving her vehicle. Police said she jumped between two vehicles and then got on the hood of her vehicle in an attempt to stop the tow truck driver from towing the car. Police took her into custody and placed her in a cruiser. The officer said she continued to yell in the cruiser and at the station.
DUI charge: Karen Petrola, 51, of Scenery Hill, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and careless driving in connection with an Aug. 2 crash in front of 1790 Main St., West Bethlehem. State police said Tuesday that she crashed into a parked pickup truck.
