The Washington County commissioners expect on Thursday to sell two small tracts of land in Chartiers Township to Washington Penn Plastic Co., which plans to construct a railroad siding along Arden Station Road.

The sales prices of $3,800 for one tract and $9,050 for the other are based on appraisals submitted to the county by Joseph Koval.

“It has no value to the county at all,” said Scott Fergus, Washington County director of administration, at an agenda-setting session Wednesday. He used the words “sliver” and “embankment” to describe the triangle of land just north of the Washington County fairgrounds’ oval track.

Washington Penn Plastic Co. Inc., makes polypropylene compounds and polyethylene products.
