WAYNESBURG – Several defendants who pleaded guilty to charges in June were sentenced Monday by Greene County President Judge Farley Toothman.

Gary A. Anderson Jr., 26, of 586 Turkey Hollow Road, Waynesburg, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, second offense in 10 years, and two summary traffic violations. Arrested Nov. 13, Anderson had a blood-alcohol content level of .196. Anderson was sentenced to five years in the county intermediate punishment program, with the first three months under house arrest. He was fined $2,025.

Ronald J. Lapenta Jr., 53, of Route 88, Carmichaels, pleaded guilty to DUI, third offense in 10 years, and nine summary traffic violations. Arrested Aug. 30, 2014, Lapenta had a BAC level of .218 percent. Lapenta was sentenced to five years in the county intermediate punishment program, the first 90 days of which will be served in jail and the following 12 months under house arrest. He was ordered to pay $3,235 in fines and perform 125 hours of community service.

Alexis Popielarcheck, 33, of 105 Third St., Jefferson, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, her second DUI offense in 10 years, and three summary violations in one case and in a second case to possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. Popielarcheck was arrested following a traffic stop Aug. 28, 2014. A blood test indicated she was under the influence of cocaine, marijuana and other drugs. She was arrested Nov. 10 after causing a disturbance at the Sheetz store in Cumberland Township and was in possession of a pipe with cocaine residue. Popielarcheck was sentenced to two years in the county intermediate punishment program, the first 120 days of which will be served under house arrest. She also was fined $1,000 and ordered to perform 225 hours of community service.

Autumn Renee Martin, 22, of 787 Big Shannon Run Road, Mt. Morris, pleaded guilty to three counts each of forgery and bad checks and five counts of theft. Martin opened a checking account in her father’s name and wrote three bad checks in July 2014 at Giant Eagle for $2,428.38. She was sentenced to one year of probation, fined $300, ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and pay $2,518.38 in restitution.

Ronald Toth, 67, of 115 E. Pine St., Cochranton, pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence. Toth was arrested May 21, 2014 after a single-vehicle crash in Cumberland Township. He was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and smoking devices, which he tried to hide at the crash scene. Toth was sentenced to one year of county intermediate punishment with the first seven days under house arrest. He was fined $1,300.

Durrand W. Liston, 36, of 49 Nelson Lane, Ohiopyle, pleaded guilty in February to DUI, third offense in 10 years, and four summary violations. Arrested May 11, 2014, he refused a blood-alcohol test. Liston was sentenced to two years in the state intermediate punishment program, under which he must serve at least seven months in a state prison and participate in institutional and community-based drug and alcohol programs. He also was fined $1,075.

Annette N. Phillips, 51, of 850 West Run Road, Sycamore, pleaded guilty to DUI, third offense in 10 years, and two summary violations. Arrested Oct. 30, Phillips had a BAC of .276. Phillips was sentenced to five years in the county intermediate punishment program, with the first 12 months under house arrest. She was fined $2,535 and ordered to perform 225 hours of community service.
