NEW CASTLE (AP) – A woman and her daughter were killed in an overnight house fire that also injured a father and son in Western Pennsylvania.

State police said the dead woman is 33-year-old Kalle Convery and her daughter, 9-year-old Aidan Kelley.

The girl’s father, 35-year-old Andrew Kelley and brother, 7-year-old Quentin Kelley, escaped and were taken to hospitals where their conditions weren’t immediately available.

Shenango Township Fire Chief Dave Rishel said the fire started around 3 a.m. and quickly engulfed the home’s first and second floors.

He said the intense heat make it unsafe for firefighters to immediately search the home.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.

Shenango Township is about 40 miles northwest of downtown Pittsburgh.
