JOHNSTOWN (AP) – State police were continuing to investigate a crash that severely injured an off-duty Western Pennsylvania police officer who was riding a motorcycle.
Sgt. David Pollino of the Stonycreek Township Police Department was hurt when his motorcycle crashed with another vehicle just before 10 p.m. Saturday in Richland Township near Johnstown, about 60 miles east of Pittsburgh.
Pollino was last reported in the intensive care unit of Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown after several surgeries. The hospital could not immediately update his condition Tuesday.
Pollino’s brother, who is a Richland Township officer, assisted at the scene. But state troopers from the Ebensburg barracks took over the investigation. They didn’t immediately release new information Tuesday.
