Crash: Two teenage boys were seriously injured late Monday night when their car crashed on Route 19 in Franklin Township. The car was southbound about a mile north of Waynesburg when it left the road, went over a hillside and crashed into a tree at 11:45 p.m., Waynesburg-Franklin fire Chief Jeff Marshall said. The two occupants, whose identities were not immediately released, were flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va., with what Marshall described as serious injuries. State police are investigating the crash.

Crash: Tyler J. Johnson, 26, of Bossier, La., escaped injury when he lost control of his vehicle on Interstate 79 at 3:06 a.m. Sunday. State police said the vehicle struck a guardrail in the southbound lanes, crossed the median and hit a guardrail in the northbound lanes. Charges of driving under the influence of alcohol are pending blood-alcohol test results, police said.

Man charged: Jordan L. Scritchfield, 27, of Jefferson, was arrested by Waynesburg police Aug. 28 and charged with receiving stolen property, possessing a firearm without a license and other charges. Police found Scritchfield along a dirt pathway off South Richhill Street. He was in possession of a handgun that was reported stolen to state police in Belle Vernon.
