CONNELLSVILLE (AP) – Authorities identified two elderly people as victims of a car that ran off a rural Western Pennsylvania highway and flipped over in a wooded area.

The victims of Tuesday’s crash on Route 711 in Connellsville Township are 81-year-old Alice Temple and 82-year-old Edward Baronie. Both were from nearby Champion.

Fayette County authorities said the crash happened just before 3 p.m. The car ran off the road, down an embankment, and flipped over, landing top down onto a tree.

State police were continuing to investigate the cause of the crash Wednesday.
