The Greene County Historical Museum will host the Greene Power energy exhibit at the museum on Rolling Meadows Road.

The exhibit covers from when oil was discovered near Dunkard Creek in the 1800s through the coal mining industry to the business of shale gas energy extraction today and the debates over the impact of gas, oil and coal on politics, the environment and the local economy.

The exhibit presents old photographs, actual equipment, models, oral histories and map, as well as a look at the Crucible Mine as it looked when it was being built in 1904

Opening night for Greene Power! is from 5 to 7 p.m. today after the 50s Fest antique car show that runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Waynesburg.

Both events are free. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 724-627-3204.
