PITTSBURGH (AP) – State police say troopers rescued a man found pinned underneath a tree in a wooded area off Route 28 in Western Pennsylvania.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports 52-year-old Thomas Lubresky was discovered around 10 a.m. Sunday near the northbound Tarentum ramp.

Troopers enforcing speed limits along the highway heard Lubresky’s cries for help. He was found with his left shin stuck under the 40-foot tree.

Lubresky told officers he had been pinned for several hours while cutting firewood.

Cpl. Michael Markey says Lubresky suffered visible bruises, scrapes and scratches to his lower left leg. He declined to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

Markey says troopers freed Lubresky with one of his chainsaws.

Harrison Township police are looking into potential trespass charges.
