Fort Cherry students evacuated

Fort Cherry High School students were evacuated at 8:20 a.m. Monday because of an odor detected in the science hallway.

According to a news release, the students were evacuated to the elementary center while the local fire department and Columbia Gas responded to the incident. A leak found on the high school roof was repaired, and all students returned to class about 10:20 a.m., with school resuming as usual.
