Whiteley Township tax collector Linda VanDruff recheduled her office hours for Wednesday to 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The office previously was scheduled to be open 6 to 8 p.m.

Hillsdale College professor Ronald Pestritto will speak at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Alumni Hall as part of Waynesburg University’s Stover Center lecture series. Pestritto’s lecture is entitled “Rule by Law or by Executive Fiat? How Agencies Govern Without Consent.” Admission is free, and the public is invited to attend. Pestritto is the graduate dean and an associate professor of politics at Hillsdale College, where he teaches political philosophy, American political thought and American politics, and holds the Charles and Lucia Shipley Chair in the American Constitution.

A community dinner will be held at Rogersville United Methodist Church’s Fellowship Hall from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday. The meal will include creamed chicken and biscuit, mashed potatoes, peas, applesauce, dessert and a beverage. Dinner is free, although donations are accepted. Carry out is available. New Freeport Volunteer Fire Company will hold a country music concert at the fire hall Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. Country Sounds and Band Tharpe will be playing. Admission is $4, and the event is sponsored by the ladies auxiliary.

Southwestern Pennsylvania Water Authority will shut off water service Wednesday in Waynesburg Borough on Bonar Avenue between Fifth and Eighth streets, and on Sixth Street from Sherman Drive to Marion Drive. The service disruption will be between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. as crews work to upgrade the system.
