Urine test charge: James Eddie Moss, 35, of 1443 Main St., Burgettstown, was charged Thursday by McDonald police with failure to furnish drug-free urine after he allegedly brought urine with him in a container in an attempt to use that urine for testing for Washington County Adult Probation at the Burgettstown substation. He allegedly admitted to the probation officer he had used heroin. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge Gary Havelka.
Disorderly house charge: Donald E. Taylor, 43, of 249 Wood St., California, and Donovan Yusef Rosendary, 24, of 670 Park Ave., California, were charged by California police with violating the disorderly house ordinance for separate alleged incidents at their respective residences over the weekend.
Cell damaged: Ralph McLaughlin, 43, of 119 Locust St., Muse, was charged Thursday by Canonsburg police with criminal mischief, institutional vandalism and public drunkenness for allegedly damaging the holding cell at the police station after getting picked up May 20 by police who said they spotted him stumbling down West Pike Street. Police said he kicked the cell door, damaging it. The charge will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Bicyclist struck: Trey Orum, 13, of Hooks Lane, Canonsburg, was treated at the scene after police said he was struck by a vehicle driven by James Chemento, 87, of 229 Bluff St., Canonsburg, as Orum rode his bicycle near the intersection of Cecil and Craighead streets about 5:20 p.m. Sunday.
iPhone stolen: Alex Calabrese of Sandalwood Drive, McDonald, told Canonsburg police Saturday her son’s iPhone 6 was stolen while he was at Oktoberfest.
Cellphone stolen: Valerie Britt of Hickory Circle, Canonsburg, told Canonsburg police Saturday her Galaxy 5 cellphone was stolen while she was at McDonald’s.
Assault, threat arrest: Elijah Jasean Gordon, 18, of 220 Burton Ave., Washington, was arrested Sunday by state police on charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment stemming from a Sept. 11 incident at 80 Bel Air Drive, Belvedere Acres, Canton. Gordon is accused of threatening and punching a woman. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
Assault charge: Douglas M. LeMasters, 55, of 230 Charles St., Canton, was charged Friday by state police with simple assault and harassment for allegedly punching Richard Welsh in the face, knocking him to the ground, during a July 10 confrontation at his home. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Drug charges: Kwanze I. Thomas, 19, of Morgantown, W.Va., was charged Thursday by state police with possession and possession with intent to deliver crack and possession of paraphernalia after he allegedly was found Sept. 5 with the suspected drug when state police responded to a confrontation at Belvedere Acres, 50 Bel Air Drive, Canton. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Charged in stop: Eric B. Winters, 24, of 237 Castle Road, Washington, was charged Thursday by state police with possession of marijuana stemming from an April 4 traffic stop on North Hewitt Avenue in Canton. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
Charged in crash: Ashley N. Dyson, 22, of 104 Sherrard Drive, Washington, was charged Friday by state police with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of a crash, speeding, failure to render aid and reckless driving stemming from a March 13 crash on Interstate 79 northbound in Chartiers. Police said her blood-alcohol content was almost double the 0.08 percent at which intoxication is presumed when she crashed into another vehicle while trying to pass it on the shoulder at 80 mph. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of District Judge David Mark.
DUI alleged in crash: Bryan Dale Presnock, 35, of Charleroi, will be charged by California police with DUI stemming from a crash Friday night on Dally Road in Long Branch. He was taken to Monongahela Valley Hospital, where police say blood was drawn to determine his BAC.
Cruiser hit: Michael Joseph Sweetie, 47, of 204 Howard St., McDonald, was charged by McDonald police with DUI, damage to attended vehicle and careless driving after his vehicle allegedly struck a McDonald police cruiser in the parking lot of McDonald Trail station on South McDonald Street Saturday. Police had received a report of two people fighting in a vehicle. An officer pulled behind Sweetie’s vehicle, and police said Sweetie put his vehicle in reverse and backed up, hitting the cruiser. The officer had blown the horn on the cruiser in an attempt to get Sweetie to stop. Police said Sweetie’s BAC was more than double the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed. Charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
Assault arrest: Zachary Thomas Burris, 27, of 101 W. Main St., Monongahela, was arrested Sunday by Monongahela police on charges of simple assault and harassment after he allegedly struck his stepbrother, William Crawford, during a confrontation at his home. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and released with orders to have no contact with the alleged victim.
Sisters face charges: Rosetta Shultz, 48, of McDonald, and Cheri Shultz, 45, of Bulger, will be charged with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct after the two reportedly got into a physical confrontation with each other Saturday at the Krepps Bridge during the Covered Bridge Festival, Mt. Pleasant police said. The charges will be sent by summons from the office of Senior District Judge Jay Dutton.
DUI charge: Garret Recker, 19, of Hickory, will be charged by Mt. Pleasant police with DUI after police got a call about 7:20 a.m. Sunday about a man passed out behind the wheel of a running car in the parking lot of Fort Cherry High School. Police said Recker’s BAC was almost five times the 0.02 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed for anyone under the age of 21.
Charged in theft: Zachary Charles Strohmeyer, 27, of 171 Union St., Bridgeville, was arrested Sunday by North Strabane police on charges of theft, forgery and bad checks. He is accused of depositing or trying to deposit 12 bogus checks at Chrome Federal Credit Union, 480 Johnson Road, and then withdrawing almost $2,000 between July 20 and Sept. 15. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $30,000 bond.
Teen slightly injured: Michael Kotar, 17, of Oakdale, was slightly injured Sunday morning when the vehicle he was driving crashed into a fence on William Drive, North Strabane police said. Police said he had an abrasion on his upper left arm from the seat belt. He told police his shoelace got stuck in a pedal. He refused treatment.
Endangerment, assault arrest: William Joseph Taylor Jr., 30, of 674 Joffre-Bulger Road, Joffre, was arrested Friday by Smith police on charges of reckless endangerment, terroristic threats and aggravated assault after he allegedly pointed a gun at two people and threatened to shoot them while cutting down trees. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $5,000 bond.
One injured: Rhonda Federer, 58, of Allenport, was injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Brownlee Road and Route 136, Somerset, state police said. The other driver was identified as Kimberly Farkas, 46, of North Charleroi. Federer, who police said will be charged with careless driving, was taken to Washington Hospital for treatment.
Woman charged: Kimberly J. Massari, 50, of 210 Quail Run, Venetia, was charged by Southwest Regional police with accident involving damage to attended vehicle and driving under suspension stemming from a crash Friday in the 6300 block of Route 88, Union.
Warrant arrest: Ronald A. Paith, 35, of 1007 Sycamore St., Washington, was arrested Saturday on warrants obtained by Washington police stemming from separate incidents in June. He is charged with simple assault, burglary and criminal trespass for allegedly entering the home of Jessica Powell, 127 Maple Terrace, through a window and assaulting her June 11. He is charged with aggravated assault for allegedly hitting and choking Stephanie Schultz during a June 16 incident at his home. He was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller and placed in Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
Money order incident: Washington police are looking for a man who tried to cash a stolen money order for $100 Sunday at Shop ‘n Save, 125 W. Beau St. The money order had been reported stolen earlier this month.
Jeep stolen: Matthew Coon of South Fayette Township told Washington police Saturday his yellow 2013 Jeep Wrangler was stolen from the city lot in the 200 block of South Main Street. The vehicle was recovered Sunday by Clairton police.
DUI alleged in crash: Stephen Craig, 25, of 72 Mill St., Washington, will be charged by Washington police with DUI after he allegedly crashed his vehicle into a parked vehicle Friday in front of 1225 Summerlea Ave. Police said his BAC was 2 1/2 times the 0.08 percent limit at which intoxication is presumed.
Items stolen: Harry Ringer of 412 Houston Ave. told Washington police Friday an air-conditioning unit, 10-speed bicycle, radio and copper were stolen from his home.
Charged in crash: Barry Lynn Woods, 48, of 275 North Ave., Washington, will be charged by Washington police after he allegedly crashed his vehicle Friday night into a parked van in the 200 block of Ridge Avenue. Woods, who suffered a head laceration, refused to submit to blood-alcohol testing at Washington Hospital, police said.
