MANOR (AP) – A Pennsylvania woman is crying ‘fowl’ over a local ordinance that could cost her $300 in daily fines for keeping two ducks she bought as pets for her granddaughter.

Jodi Gavin-Fedor tells KDKA-TV she keeps the ducks named “Lucy” and “Ricky” in a fenced-in section of her yard. The birds live in a pen at night and use a wading pool during the day.

But she says a Manor borough zoning official told her the ducks would have to go, or she’d face a $300 daily fine.

Gavin-Fedor says her request for a zoning exemption was denied. She says that’s unfair because another neighbor keeps 15 chickens and five ducks.

Borough Councilman Bruce Hartman Jr. says, “I feel for the lady” but that she should have checked the ordinance first.
