Three face charges: Joseph Templeton, 20, of 257 N. Central Ave., Canonsburg, Tonaiya Carr, 18, of Smith Street, Canonsburg, and Carr’s 16-year-old sister face charges in connection with attempted break-ins of vehicles in the borough’s East End Monday night. Templeton was stopped after he was confronted by neighbors in the area. Carr and her sister allegedly fled on bicycles. Templeton was arraigned before District Judge Jay Weller on charges of conspiracy and attempted theft from vehicles. Carr and her sister will be charged with conspiracy and prowling at night.

Charged in stop: Nicholas R. Swart, 27, of 321 Lacock St., Canton, was charged Saturday by state police with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence stemming from a traffic stop at Marra and Weirich avenues, Canton.

Scam reported: A McDonald woman told police Monday she received a voice mail from a man claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service indicating that she owed on her 2012 taxes and that a U.S. marshal would take her into custody if she did not pay. Police told her the IRS does not contact people by telephone.

Pizzeria cited: The operators of Fiori’s Pizzeria, 3801 Washington Road, Peters, were cited Monday by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for selling alcohol in July and August after their liquor license expired June 30.

Retail theft: Peters Township police will charge Eric Brian Brooks, 45, of 211 Prestonwood Lane, McMurray, with retail theft after he allegedly took a 12-pack of beer Monday from the Giant Eagle at Donaldson’s Crossroads.
