CORAOPOLIS (AP) – Police say the new boyfriend of a Western Pennsylvania woman has fatally shot her ex-boyfriend and may be headed to West Virginia.

Allegheny County police have an arrest warrant for 28-year-old Jesse Jones, of Moon Township, on criminal homicide and other charges.

Township police were in the Moon Crest housing community on another call when they heard gunshots about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday. That’s when police found the woman’s ex-boyfriend, 32-year-old Cameron Johnson, fatally shot and still in a car that had crashed into a tree.

Police say Jones is originally from West Virginia and may be trying to get back to that state.

They were continuing to search for Jones on Thursday.
